Aguascalientes belongs to the “Bajío Region”, the most important development pole of Mexico, where the most influential Industrial and Technological cluster of the country is located. This region has been the most important economic thriving area with an average annual growth of 4.4% that is 1.6 times above the national average. As a result the “Bajío Region'', has been the biggest recipient of FDI in Mexico for the past decades.
With a population of 1.4 million inhabitants, Aguascalientes has a working age population that averages 25 years-old. It is one of the most educated States in Mexico, given its ease of entry and wide offering of Technical and University Schools. It has one of the largest ratios of University graduates in the Country, from which 35% of the students are enrolled in STEM careers. Plus, the state owns investment grade by both Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings.
Aguascalientes owns 1st place on the “Doing Business Study” done by the World Bank, it has 1st place on average annual growth with a 4.6% from 2010 till 2019 and it is expected to have an estimated growth of 5.9% on 2021. Aguascalientes hosts more than 260 international companies mostly in the industrial sector, therefore, its main foreign allies are Japan, Germany and the United States. In addition, the main strategic sectors for the economic development of the state are aerospace, agroindustry, automobile & auto parts, electronic components manufacturing, technology information, local vendors & logistics, R + D + i, specialized health care services.
To finalize Aguascalientes is one of the states with the highest quality life, according to the study “IPS México Cómo Vamos” which makes an integral evaluation of the state social welfare, placing us on national 3rd place. Finally, Aguascalientes is ranked 3rd best in Mexico as per social perception of security.

Universidad Panamericana
Universidad Panamericana was founded in 1967 as a business school. The original group of scholars and business people who founded the Pan-American Institute of Top Business Management (IPADE), soon began promoting what is today Universidad Panamericana. The Pan-American Institute of Humanities (IPH), precursor to Universidad Panamericana, was founded in 1968. In 1978, IPH was elevated to the rank of university, and took the name Universidad Panamericana, even though both IPADE and IPH had initially conceived knowledge as being unitary and universal- that is, a university. Universidad Panamericana has four campi which give service to almost 12 thousand students in 33 degree programs. The first campus was inaugurated in Mexico City in 1968, the second in Guadalajara in 1981 and a third in Aguascalientes in 1989. Campus Santa Fe, also located in Mexico City, was inaugurated in 2011. As one university with one spirit, UP works daily on three foundational pillars: teaching, research, and transmission of culture. In virtue of an agreement between the Governing Board and the Prelature of Opus Dei, Universidad Panamericana has entrusted to that Prelature the spiritual attention and doctrinal guidance of all its activities. The University, in its few decades of life, has come to occupy a place as one of the top universities in Mexico.
